So yesterday, I drove up to Murrieta, picked up Brittany, and we drove up to Los Angeles to see a free screening of the show "Celebrity Duets." I'm guilty of admitting that I'm not a fan of the show, nor had I actually seen a single episode, but I figure "It's going to LA and it's seeing celebrities." Plus Brittany really wanted to go.
We get up to Studio City around 12:30 (the show wasn't supposed to start at around 3:30) and wait around until they let us in the parking lot at 1PM, and lucky us, we got to see the Dress Rehearsal since arriving there so early... Also, since we were one of the first people there, we also got to be in the 3rd or so row from the stage. Close up of the celebs, yes'sir.
Wayne Brady came out and was hilarious, since of course this was just the rehearsal, and the real judges weren't there. He was totally messing around, saying things never to be said live and flirted with an audience member.
Lucy Lawless came out, sung with (I'M NOT REVEALING WHO BECAUSE SPOILERS OMG,) followed by
Alfonso Riberio (HIS DUET) and then
Hal Sparks and his duet (WHO OMG IS TOTALLY KICK ASS CAUSE HE'S IN A SWEET BAND.) Since our going up to LA was mainly to see Hal, Brittany was totally swooning.
The 2nd set of singing came out and (OMG MORE FAMOUS SINGERS WHO ALL ROCK AND CAN'T REVEAL) were on stage. Turns out that the seat right in front of us was where Hal's girlfriend was going to be during the real show and when he was nearly two feet away from us and signing, I could've sworn Brittany died. I just laughed.
We met some really awesome Lucy fans who were a blast and later made us a sign to hold up for Hal during the show.
So back outside in the heat where an even bigger line was this time and then back into the studio (which is actually quite small) where we didn't get the really good seats like we got in the rehearsal, but they were still floor seats and in the center.
Little Richard, Marie Osmond and David Foster all came out on stage smiling and oogling up the audiences screaming. (OMG, The group behind us nearly killing my ear drums with all their fangirl squeals.) But... But I saw
Cheech Marin in person folks!!! Aaaah! To me, that was very-very cool because I grew up watching his stuff. (As much as my parents would allow me.)
Jai Rodriguez stood up (All of the previous contestants were sitting five rows ahead of us by the way,) and I didn't catch all of the others, but they were there.
Oh yeah, the fangirls, were totally loving Wayne. Every commercial break, he'd walk around stage and be nearly hugged to death by every single adolescent girl in that room. To tell you the truth, I wanted to hug the announcer guy. What was his name Brittany? The one telling us all to clap and giving free stuff? I thought he was cute. XD
After the show, the bouncers and staff started to kick everyone out, and the celebrities also went with. Our chances of meeting Hal in person scarce, but Brittany man, as soon as she saw Hal hadn't left and was upstage, starting pacing across the chairs, ignoring the people in her way and went on a mission. And me, walking casually behind the rows of chairs she went across, caught up. And Hal's a total sweetie in person, dedicated to his fans and appreciative, so even though I don't watch the show, I'm still going to make the call and vote for him. He sings my favorite genre of music, so I have to vote for him. Alfonso and Lucy are amazing too, and have really good voices, but I have my pick. XD
Drove back to Murrieta and spent the night at Brittany's house, (your mom is a sweetheart btw) saw my old school E. Hale Curran and drove back home the next day.
And even though I might be on TV tonight (Brittany had the camera shoved into her face twice because she had that poster,) I CAN'T MISS THE PREMIERE OF SUPERNATURAL'S SECOND SEASON! Besides, all I have to do is call in and get an auto recorded message anyway.
I didn't get a picture of me with Hal, but I got AN AUTOGRAPHSupernatural Second Season airs tonight at 9PM folks!!!! WEEEE!
